Hearth Hospice recently hosted an open house for its all-new location on Executive Park Drive, and its administrators believe this change of venue will afford its staff — and as a result, its clients — a better company overall.
Having previously been located in a much smaller building adjacent to the Papa John’s pizza restaurant on Keith Street, Hearth Hospice’s staff is ecstatic for the change.
“We want people to know that Hearth Hospice is somewhat new in town, so the goal of this open house is for us to meet our neighbors and show them what we’re all about,” stated Hearth COO Tiffany Hobbs.
She praised her staff’s experience and work ethic, while also reinforcing the importance of a hospice’s mission.
The new location on Executive Park Drive, according to Hobbs, is much easier to access, with far less traffic to deal with, more parking space and is still fairly close to the hospital as well as local nursing and assisted living homes.
The open house featured a buffet, champagne, music and a ribbon cutting to commemorate the event.
“We have so much more room here. It’s more like home,” stated Chara McLaughen, Hearth physician’s assistant and clinical liaison.
The Cleveland office opened in August 2018, and has grown significantly since.
McLaughen explained how the new location is befitting, as not only has their location grown, but so have their staff and clients.
She says Hearth Hospice doesn’t consider other hospice companies in Cleveland as competition, because everyone has a different need, and that Hearth can provide different aspects of those needs if available and able to do so.
“I do feel like we can definitely step out and offer some things that are not necessarily the same as everyone else. We’re different in that we are privately-owned and patient driven,” McLaughen added.
Registered nurses Lauren Nunnelly and Travis Scurlock enjoy the new location as well, as it’s far more updated and much bigger.
Going to check up on 8-10 clients per day, Hearth Hospice’s R.N.’s are often the face of the company.
“We make sure they have all their medications, do assessments, check their vital signs and ensure they have all their equipment and supplies available like oxygen,” Nunnelly said.
Scurlock believes the new location is a sign of growth for Hearth Hospice, and that it sets up the staff to help more people in the community overall.
A massive amount of community members came out to the event, including the Cleveland Bradley Chamber of Commerce, and all gathered at the front of the building to symbolically declare the new location open for business.
Hearth Hospice is now located at 2700 Executive Park Drive. It can be reached at 423-551-9941.
