Glenda Charlene Riden


Glenda Charlene Riden, 73, of Cleveland, passed away, Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, in a local hospital surrounded by her family.

She was a true blessing to all that had the privilege to know her. Her child-like spirit and contagious smile taught us lessons in life that her family and friends will always cherish. She had a great love for her family and friends, and never met a stranger. She loved her Eastside Church of Christ family.

She is reunited with her parents, William “Bill” and Lois Presswood Riden; brother, James “Jim” Riden; sister, Barbara Parkinson; brother-in-law, Norman Buckner; and nephew, Gary Davis.

She is survived by her sister, Martha Buckner of Cleveland; nieces and nephews: Sandy Davis, Kathy Bandy and husband, Mark, Patti Hafley and husband, Larry and Mark Riden, all of Cleveland, Cyndi Butler and husband, Charlie, of Nashville and Keith Buckner and wife, Jennifer, of Ooltewah; brother-in-law, Mansel Parkinson and sister-in-law, Helen Riden; several great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great nephews; and numerous extended family members and special friends and staff of Life Bridges, who took care of her and loved her like family.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Minister Jeff Archey and Minister Bill Maynard officiating.

Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery with Mark Bandy, Drew Bandy, Keith Buckner, Larry Hafley, Charlie Butler and Brian Brock serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 11, 2017, at the funeral home.
