Girl Scouts of the Echota Service Unit of Cleveland on Sept. 29 held an event to help prepare girls in the event of a natural disaster/emergency situation. The 114 girl members and adult volunteers participated in various games and learning experiences related to being in an emergency shelter situation. Girls were given a donated meal, courtesy of the Candies Creek Fresh N' Low management, as part of the emergency shelter experience. Guest speaker Jeff Gunter of Emergency Management spoke to girls about emergency procedures and the importance of being prepared for an emergency. The service unit collected donations to help an in-need sister Girl Scout troop who were victims of Hurricane Harvey.
