Geraldine G. “Jerri” Morgan, 76, of Cleveland, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at her youngest son’s home with family by her side.

She was born July 6, 1941, in Dalton, Ga., to the late Oscar Green and Martha Howard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Leon “Lee” Morgan; and her daughter, Janice Fannin Hurley.

She was a member of Clingan Ridge Baptist Church, but due to her illness was unable to attend for the last several years.  She worked and retired after 30 years of service from the Duracell Plant in Cleveland.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Bryan and Kelley Morgan of Cleveland, and Terry and Tammy Fannin of Kentucky; grandchildren, B.J. Morgan (Dená) of Cleveland, Christina Hurley of Cleveland, Sarah Fannin and Rachael Fannin of Kentucky; five great-grandchildren of Cleveland; brother and sister-in-law, Roy Lee and Margaret Green of Resaca, Ga.; sisters: Wilma Flowers of Cohutta, Ga., and Patsy Weller of Ringgold, Ga.; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, at Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road N.W., Cleveland, TN 37311. 

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 7 p.m., following the visitation.

Interment will take place at McDonald Cemetery on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the local Alzheimer’s Association or 2018 Alzheimer’s Walk in memory of Geraldine Morgan.
