Gelene Burgner, 78 of Charleston, passed away on Wednesday morning, Dec. 5, 2018, at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga.
She was born on Aug. 27, 1940, to the late James Chester and Lula Mae Kibble Stephens, She was a native and lifelong resident of Bradley County and of the Methodist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ben Stephens; and first husband, Bill Burgner.
She enjoyed playing the piano, and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her sons, Shawn Burgner of Charleston and Brent ( Paula) Burgner of Cleveland; granddaughter, Amanda Mooney of Tunnel Hill, Ga.; sisters: Doris Chittenden and Barbara (Delbert) Bramlett, both of Cleveland; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
A Gathering of Friends will be held from 5 to 8 on this evening at Serenity of Cleveland Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Interment will be private.
