Frances Edith Hitson, 85, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at the family residence.
She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Annie Hubbard, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Marvin “Mug” Hitson.
She retired from Lee University, where she worked in the cafeteria with more than 28 years of service. She was a member of United Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons: Marvin Hitson, James Hitson, Kenneth Hitson and Charlie Hitson; daughters: Melissa Godfrey, Betty Godfrey and Frances McNish; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at 6 p.m. at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services, Wildwood Avenue Chapel, with the Rev. Charles Ogle officiating.
The interment will be held at noon on Thursday at Epperson Cemetery in Tellico Plains.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 3 until 6 p.m., at the funeral home.
