Four Cleveland High School swimmers qualified for the TISCA High School State Championship swim meet this past weekend, at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center in Knoxville.

Senior Trey Parris, junior Jacob McDaniel, junior Ty Riggins, and junior Luke Hunt make up the CHS state team. During qualifying, the team broke the CHS 200 medley relay time at 1:43.06.

McDaniel broke his own 200 freestyle record at 1:45.97. McDaniel was also the only individual to make the finals, placing an overall 14th in the 200 yard freestyle and 13th in the 100-yard backstroke.

Hunt set a personal record with an individual 50 yard freestyle time of 22.51.

Parris, the Blue Raiders' senior captain, has signed with Notre Dame College of Ohio to swim next season. Parris has been a member of the Cleveland swimming program since the sixth grade.

Riggins had impressive swims at state, going a 24.51 50 free split for the relays. He had consistently improved over the course of the year, working his way out of the B-relay and earning a spot on the A-relay team halfway through the season, finishing his season at the state meet.
