Florence Jean Lewallen


Florence Jean Lewallen, 64, of Birchwood, passed away on Nov. 13, 2017.  She was born on July 22, 1953, to the late Tom and Viola Myers.

She was a lifelong resident of this area. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and playing horseshoes. Above all things, she loved spending time with her family.  

 In addition to her mother and father, she is preceded in death by one brother, James Franklin Myers; sister, Darlene Myers; granddaughter, Christina Dawn Nichols; uncle, Charlie Adam Myers; niece, Sabrina Ann Jones; and nephew, Carl Lee Grady.

 She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 25 years, Earl Lewallen; sons: Andy Ferry (Jackie), Thomas Ferry, Tony Ferry, and Tracy Lewallen; daughter, Brenda Ferry; brothers: Dean Myers (Carolyn), Buck Myers (Sandra), Tommy Lee Adams (Jerry); sisters: Evelyn Adams, Mary Ann Meyer (Paul) and Shirley Jo White; grandchildren: Justin, Dusty, Kristin, Jeanette, Brittney, Nathaniel, Steven Ray, Breanna, Hawkin, Avery, Veronica, Samantha and Cheyenne; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends. 

 The family will receive friends on Thursday, Nov.16, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Companion Funeral Home, 2419 Georgetown Road N.W.

A Celebration of Life service will be held immediately following the visitation at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with the Revs. Dean Myers and Buck Myers officiating. Interment will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at McInturff Cemetery.
