The 10th Judicial District Drug Task Force and the Cleveland Police Department recently conducted a joint operation which resulted in agents seizing approximately 50 grams of heroin with an approximate street value of $20,000.
According to Sgt. Evie West, public information officer for the Cleveland Police Department, agents also arrested five subjects directly involved with transporting heroin from Detroit and distributing the heroin in Cleveland.
Arrested in connection with the operation were Joseph Pike of Charleston and Karen Lyles of Cleveland.
Also arrested were Demondrae Smith and Leon Fenderson, both of Detroit. All four were charged with conspiracy to possess Schedule I heroin over 15 grams, and Fenderson was charged with possession of Schedule I heroin for resale over 15 grams.
Also arrested in the joint operation was Camisha Tolbert of Detroit for simple possession of marijuana.
The subjects were taken into custody on Friday.
