'Fargo Five' gear up for North Dakota tournament

Cleveland High School is sending a record five athletes to Cadet/Junior Nationals in Fargo, N.D. — America’s biggest wrestling tournament.

Blue Raiders wrestlers Nate Schilling (senior), Daniel Sims (freshman), Trae McDaniel (junior), Bentley Ellison (freshman), and Ashton Davis (sophomore) will compete for national honors.

Last summer, Trae McDaniel became Cleveland’s first ever and Tennessee’s sixth wrestler to ever All-American honors in both Freestyle and Greco. McDaniel was a 2019 TSSAA state champion and will enter his junior year at Cleveland High with only one defeat.

“You don’t send anyone to the biggest wrestling tournament in the nation unless you are sure they are highly qualified,” said Josh Bosken, head coach of the Higher Calling Youth Wrestling Club. “We are confident that our "Fargo Five" will accomplish great things.”
