Evon Basily Riad, 87, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2020, at the family residence.
She was born in Egypt and was preceded in death by her husband, Max L. Riad; her parents; and a number of siblings.
She taught elementary school in Egypt, and after coming to Cleveland, she worked in housekeeping for Lee University and for the Church of God International Offices before her retirement.
She loved to cook and was known for her sense of humor. Most of all, she loved to read her Bible, and along with her husband, they would read the Bible through twice a year! She was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Julie Burkhart and her husband, Marty, of Ooltewah; her son, John Riad of Cleveland; her granddaughter, Krista Riad, also of Cleveland; her twin sister, Nancy David of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life service will be held privately for the family. Interment will be in the Lee Cemetery in McDonald.
The Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services, North Ocoee Chapel, has charge of the arrangements.
