Evelyn Wright, 91, a lifelong resident of Birchwood, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, in a local health care facility.
She was the daughter of the late Ben and Maggie Parker, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Wright; son, Glenn Wright; and her brothers and sisters. She was the remaining child of Ben and Maggie Parker.
She retired from the Hamilton County Department of Education, working at Birchwood Elementary School for a number of years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family. She attended Birchwood Church of God.
Survivors include her sons: Roy Wright, William “Shep” Wright and his wife, Linda, and Aaron Wright and his wife, Barbara; daughter, Ann Prentice and her husband, Jeff; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren, all of Birchwood.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 2 o’clock Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Avenue Chapel with the Rev. Fletcher Farris officiating.
The interment will follow at McInturf Cemetery with Joe, Jim and Steve Allison, Deric Prentice, Troy Wright and Jeff Prentice serving as casket bearers.
The family will receive friends Thursday, from 6 until 9 p.m., at the funeral home.
