Erlanger gets support of local woman

To The Editor:

We should have access to the best possible care. Erlanger would be a great option for Bradley County, and I hope they open an emergency center here. I want people to know about the care I received when I had to go to the ER earlier this year.

I had developed sepsis and went into septic shock. I went to the new Erlanger at Hamilton Place, and they immediately got me in and took wonderful care of me. If I had [gone] to Tennova, I would have been still sitting in the waiting room waiting for triage to call my name after a few hours. In that few hours, I probably would have died because my blood pressure was dropping by the second. When I got read, it was 50/38 and my organs were starting to fail. I am very grateful for Erlanger saving my life.

We desperately need this emergency center in Cleveland. Erlanger is a top hospital with great doctors and specialists. I want the highest level of care and the peace of mind that if something goes wrong, they are there and can see me quickly. I’m sure some people have been sicker than me and had less time, and it makes all the difference.

I will never forget the care they gave me and how they saved my life. I am happy to join the many others in my community to welcome Erlanger here. Having one closer in our neck of the woods would be great and lifesaving.
