The Cowboy Gospel Jubilee announced Crystle Elam — along with Matt Foster — will be the headliners Friday, 7 p.m.
East Tennessee's most-loved Southern gospel singer Crystle Elam has filled many a church sanctuary with the pure sound of her voice and her worship in song.
“Crystle has been a favorite of the Cowboy Gospel Jubilee since its inception,” said Joel Moore, producer of the weekly show. “For many years, she joined the late Jim Ricketts to perform for our Jubilee audience. Memorable events for the duo at the Jubilee include a Valentine’s Day performance and many eagerly-awaited yearly Christmas shows.”
Elam and Ricketts were awarded the 2012 Traditional Gospel Duo of the Year and Crystle won the 2012 Horizon Award Female Vocalist of the year by the North American Country Gospel Music Association on Oct. 2, 2012.
“Crystle has continued as a successful soloist after the passing of Jim and performs at numerous churches across the Southeast,” Moore said.
Matt Foster will join Crystle at the Jubilee and the concert will feature several Christmas songs.
The Cowboy Gospel Jubilee is held at the Cleveland Cowboy Church in the Dockery Heights community at 3040 Blythe Road, off Dockery Lane, between Blue Springs and Blackburn Roads. Admission is free and a love offering is taken for the headliners.
