Edna Ruth Whaley, 93, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019, in a local hospital.
She attended New Hope Primitive Baptist Church.
She retired from AT&T after 35 years, and was an active member of the Communication Workers of America.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Cayce A. Whaley; parents, Roy Gates and Rose Lawson Gates; brother, Earl Wilkey; and sister, Francis Bean.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2019, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral with Minister Rob Touchstone officiating.
Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Nathan Davis, Zachary Rush, Lawson Touchstone, Jason Davis, Phillip Gehron, Seth Davis and Robert Kelly serving as pallbearers.
Her family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
