The Rev. Eddie F. Hooker, 81, of Cleveland, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, Feb. 14, 2019, with his loving wife by his side.

He was a Baptist minister for over 50 years, pastoring 10 churches, preaching the gospel saying he wasn’t a perfect man, but preached about the only perfect man who ever lived.

He loved to do many things, including fishing near Watts Bar Dam, hunting ginseng, watching Tennessee Volunteer sports, and spending time with his son’s family and granddaughters.  Most of all he enjoyed spending every day with the love of his life, Polly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dude and Edna Hooker; brothers: Cecil, Jess, Vance and Huel Hooker; and a sister, Lucretia Gates.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Polly Rose Hooker; son, Chip Hooker and his wife, Tanya; granddaughters, Taylar, Lola and Phoebe Hooker; sisters-in-law, Margie Hooker and Faye Hooker; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A private Remembrance of Life service was held, Monday, Feb. 18, 2019, at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services, North Ocoee Chapel, in Cleveland with the Rev. Ken Purdie, Frank Redman and David Disney officiating. Music was provided by the Boanerges Trio.

Interment will be at The Cumberland Shed Cemetery in Polk County.
