Edd Davenport


Edd “Cowboy” Davenport, 85, a resident of Reliance, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018, at his residence.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, and worked for the Forestry Service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bascom and Ida Hall Davenport; siblings: Marvin Davenport, Vester Johnson, Delmer Davenport, Sammy Davenport, Syble Davenport, Ollie Murray, Anna Mae Wiseman, Ruth Goforth, Vance Davenport, and Warren Davenport.

He is survived by his sons: Johnny Davenport and Edward Davenport; grandchildren: Anna, Noah and Lilly Davenport; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. today, Dec. 30, 2018, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with the Rev. Johnny Wilcox officiating. Interment will follow in Greasy Creek Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
