East Side Church of Christ plans gospel meetings

East Side Church of Christ will have gospel meetings from April 30 through May 3.

Eric Owens will be the guest speaker.

Owens served in the first Gulf War as a Marine. He was honorably discharged in 1992.

He is a graduate of the Memphis School of Preaching. He received a bachelor of science degree frim Amridge University.

Owens served as the pulpit minister for the State Street church of Christ in Rockford, Ill. He has preached at Avondale church of Christ in Decatur, Ga., since 1997.

Since 2005, he has served as an instructor fore the Georgia School of Preaching and Biblical Studies at the campus in Marietta, Ga. He presently teaches at the East Campus at Avondale.

He was appointed an elder of the Avondale congregation in 2009.

On Sunday, April 30, he will be speaking on “Knowing God” in the 10:30 a.m. worship service.

A covered-dish fellowship luncheon will be held after the morning worship.

On Sunday evening, 6 p.m., he will speak on “Living Like God.” The topic Monday at 7 p.m. will be “Salvation.”

The 7 p.m. Tuesday service will focus on “The Value of Values.” The 7 p.m. Wednesday service message will be on “Heaven, The Soul’s Destination.”

East Side Church of Christ is located at 252 Wildwood Ave.
