Dewey Carson Jr,

Dewey Carson Jr., 93, a lifelong resident of Bradley County, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He received two Bronze Stars for his service in the China-Burma-India Theater campaign, and was a proud member of "The Caterpillar Club" for being shot down behind enemy lines and walking out. He was owner and operator of Carson Cleaners in downtown Cleveland for many years. He will be remembered as a loving father and friend to all that knew him and he will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nellie Carson; parents, Dewey and Veta Carson; granddaughter, LeeAnn Lytle; and brother, Chaney Carson.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving children: Dewey Carson III (Linda), Susan Lytle, and Johnny Carson; grandchildren: Mindy Carson, Rick Carson, Tommy Lytle, Lisa Lee (Wayne), Jason Carson and Adam Carson; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. 

A Celebration of Life graveside service is planned for 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, in the Sunset Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Jack Green officiating.
