D.C. is not the only swamp needing drained

To The Editor:

I want to congratulate Mr. [Stephen] Greenfield on his well-written letter regarding the fleecing of Bradley County citizens by a majority of our elected officials.

I also take exception to the negative comments made by Commissioner Johnny Mull against Mayor D. Gary Davis.

Mr. Mull, your legacy will be the one that suffers as a result of your actions and comments. Also, the complaint Mr. Mull made about the "little they get paid for commission work" ... well, that monthly income alone is more than the average senior citizen receives from Social Security.

Mayor Davis realizes he was elected by the people FOR  the people to represent the best interests of Bradley County citizens, not like you and the eight other tax hikers.

Elected officials spend thousands of dollars, make dozens of promises to get elected. Very few keep their promises, which is evident with the actions of the Commission.

Along with D.C., B.C. needs to drain the swamp with the next election.
