On Thursday, Dec. 14, Life Care Centers of America presented its Danette Henry Servant Leader Award to David Blevins, director of web services.
The award was given during the company’s annual Corporate Christmas Party. It recognizes an associate at the corporate offices in Cleveland for outstanding customer service to Life Care’s more than 200 facilities nationwide. It is named in honor of Danette Henry, Life Care’s former director of payroll, who passed away in early 2008. Henry was a two-time winner of the Corporate Support Award.
“David has a passion for the work that he is called to do,” said Beecher Hunter, Life Care president. “The Danette Servant Leader Award originally was called the Corporate Support Award, meaning assistance to associates in the field and to the staff at the corporate headquarters, and support is what David is all about – with both the professional skills he has and the heart for our mission.”
“While it was incredibly touching to receive this award, I felt undeserving,” said Blevins. “This award represents so much more than just me. My position affords me the opportunity to interact with so many different departments at Life Care. This variety has led to the cultivation of relationships I cherish. When you work with such amazing people, it’s easy to stay motivated to help in any way possible.”
Blevins has had a large positive impact on Life Care since he was hired in 2013. He personally designed Life Care Centers of America’s latest website in 2014 and has since designed affiliate Century Park Associates’ website. He currently maintains more than 250 websites for the company and provides support for associates on the corporate, division, regional and facility level.
“David has brought unlimited creativity, excellence and support to the organization,” read his nomination, which was written by multiple associates in several corporate departments. “He exemplifies passionate leadership and commitment to excellence that is actively improving the organization on many platforms. We think he’s brilliant and a joy to work with!”
“He has been a very welcome and bright light since he began to work with us,” said Kathi Christensen, executive secretary in the human resources department. “I don’t recall a single time hearing David say that something could not be done – he always says yes, and he can usually create/develop what you are looking for himself.”
