An elderly Cleveland couple who reportedly struggled with health issues died in what local authorities are classifying a murder-suicide.

The couple, identified as Max and Sue Liner, both reportedly in their 80s, were found by their son around 11:20 a.m. Sunday at their home at 515 Springhill Drive, according to Sgt. Evie West, public information officer for the Cleveland Police Department. The home is located at the intersection of Springhill Drive and Jernigan Street N.E.

West said that when officers arrived on the scene they found that Max and Sue Liner were deceased from gunshot wounds. One of the wounds appeared to be self-inflicted, but West did not say which victim suffered the self-inflicted wound, nor when the incident might have occurred.

Information on the health issues the two might have been experiencing was also not available.

The Criminal Investigations Unit and crime scene technician responded to the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

Springhill Drive is in a quiet neighborhood, just east of North Ocoee Street.
