CPD seeking help to ID ring suspect

Authorities are asking for the public’s help to identify a man suspected of stealing a $2,500 ring from the Kohl’s store at 4580 Frontage Road N.W. in Cleveland.

The Cleveland Police Department posted the alert on its Facebook page Wednesday regarding the incident that occurred Jan. 4. CPD is seeking a white male suspect, approximately 6-foot-1, who stole a diamond ring valued at $2,500 from an employee at the jewelry counter.

The ring is described as a ¾-carat cluster with a 10-carat white gold and rose gold band.

According to the CPD Facebook post, the suspect allegedly knocked the ring out of the hand of the employee. He said he was looking for it under the counter. The suspect said he was going to get a flashlight to help look for the ring and exited  the front door.

In the store security camera images posted online by CPD, the suspect was wearing a dark shirt with a red-plaid overshirt or jacket.

Anyone with information about this incident or the suspect is urged to contact the investigator, Detective Daniel Leamon, at 423-303-3120 or you may leave a confidential tip via the CPD’s Facebook inbox.
