Cleveland man dies in Florida motorcycle accident

A Cleveland resident was killed in a six-vehicle crash on Florida’s Turnpike in Lake County Saturday, Florida Highway Patrol troopers said.According to a report published in the Orlando Sentinel, the 11:45 a.m. crash happened as the southbound  vehicles were approaching the Leesburg Toll Plaza at Mile Marker 288, near U.S. Highway 27, northwest of Orlando.Christopher Garner, 23, of Texas, drove his Ford pickup into the back of two vehicles in front of him, including a motorcycle, investigators said.

A Cleveland resident was killed in a six-vehicle crash Saturday on Florida’s Turnpike in Lake County, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

According to a report published in the Orlando Sentinel, the 11:45 a.m. crash happened as the southbound  vehicles were approaching the Leesburg Toll Plaza at Mile Marker 288, near U.S. Highway 27, northwest of Orlando.

Christopher Garner, 23, of Texas, drove his Ford pickup into the back of two vehicles in front of him, including a motorcycle, investigators said.

The driver of the motorcycle, David Kibble, 61, of Cleveland, died at Leesburg Medical Center. He was not wearing a helmet, troopers said.

The only other person hurt was Garner, and he sustained minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
