Cleveland Half Marathon planned for May

Terra Running Company, a locally owned and operated running specialty store in Cleveland, announced today it will be hosting the Cleveland Half Marathon on May 13, 2017.

“We are really looking forward to bringing this great event to Cleveland,” Brittany Durkin, co-owner of Terra Running Company, said in the Facebook Live announcement this morning in Johnston Park.

Many other cities host large-scale races, including Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga.

“The 13.1 miles will showcase some of Cleveland’s greatest assets that make our community unique, such as downtown Cleveland, our central business district, Lee University, and the Greenway,” said Brian Moran, social media relations and grants coordinator for the city of Cleveland.

The race will be chip timed by Terra Running Company using state-of-the-art timing equipment from Chronotrack.

Those interested in learning more can go to ClevelandHalf.com to sign up for race updates. Registration will open in December 2016.

Brittany and her husband, David Durkin, opened Terra Running Company at 2548 Georgetown Road, in February 2016.

They have been involved in many local races, and put on the very successful Tall Betsy 6K in October 2016.
