Cleveland Council to look at downtown redevelopment Monday

Cleveland City Manager Joe Fivas will take the spotlight Monday as he brings the City Council up to speed on three different items concerning the move to redevelop the downtown area.

During Council’s work session, beginning at 1 p.m., Fivas will give the latest developments on the city project list, the community plan, and the downtown redevelopment consultants.

The regular session of the City Council, beginning at 3 p.m., will have a presentation for the city’s audit for the Fiscal Year 2017 by Mark Lay, the accountant who oversaw the audit process for the city.

City Council will also vote on the consent agenda which contains three items: abandoning a portion of unopened right-of-way located between East Street N.E. and Lang Street; reappointing Lt. Brian Pritchard as representative of the Cleveland Police Department on the Human Resource Committee; and reappointing Verrill Norwood for an additional term on the Wrecker Board expiring October 2022.

Both meetings will be held at the Cleveland Municipal Building.
