Both Cleveland High School varsity tennis programs came away victorious at home over District 5-AAA rival Walker Valley on Wednesday evening.

The undefeated Blue Raiders improved to 8-0 against league competition this season, with their seventh 9-0 shutout over an opponent.

Meanwhile, the Lady Raiders came out on top 5-4 for their first win of the season in the makeup district match.

Winners for the boys in singles were Vereen Patel 8-0, Jack Hughes 8-2, Allen Swetman 8-2, Adam Klibisz 8-1, Jarred Holland 8-4 and Caleb Lee 8-1. Doubles winners were Patel/Hughes 8-3, Swetman/Klibisz 8-3 and Holland/Lee 8-1.

For the girls, winners in singles were Anna Craig 8-6, Krista Riad 8-6 and Angie Giraldo 8-3. Doubles winners were Meredith Wheeler/Craig 8-4 and Riad/Giraldo 8-5.

Both teams will return to the court this Thursday with a matchup with Soddy-Daisy at the Cleveland Country Club starting at 4:15 p.m.
