Carolyn Ashe

Carolyn Sue Ashe was born on July 11, 1950, in Cleveland. She entered into the joys of eternity on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019.

She grew up at Waterville Baptist Church and loved singing in the youth choir. She was a graduate of Bradley Central High School (1968) and Tennessee Wesleyan College.

She taught in the mathematics department at Cleveland High School from 1973 until 1995. She also worked with theater arts, which was a special love of hers. She shared her love of show tunes and Broadway performances with many students, including her nieces and others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Grover Ashe and Ruth Ashe Franks; and her niece, Amber Harris Cannon.

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Mike Harris of Murfreesboro; her niece and family, Stephanie, Justin and Amber Joy Miller of Papua New Guinea; several cousins; and by her special extended family: Ricky and Tammy Butler, Francesca (Joseph) Metzger, Allen Butler and Zachary (Milley) Butler; Lilliana Butler, Audriana Brown, Wyatt Williams, Sorana Butler, Brody Metzger, Pheobie Butler, and Alana Butler.

A visitation of friends with the family will be today, Aug. 13, 2019, from 4 to 6 p.m.,at North Cleveland Baptist Church, followed immediately by a memorial service at 6 p.m. led by Dr. Jay McCluskey. 

Companion Funeral Home of Cleveland is honored to assist the Ashe family with the arrangements of Carolyn Sue Ashe.
