Brenda Jo Shamblin

Brenda Jo Shamblin, 62, of Charleston, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018. 

She was born on Nov. 9, 1955, in Rockwood, to the late Arvil and Macie Johnson. 

Brenda was a lifelong resident of this area and has been a member of Candies Creek Baptist Church for nearly 30 years, where she also enjoyed traveling on youth trips.  Brenda also enjoyed camping and scrapbooking.  She worked for the Bradley County Health Department for 25 years. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Arvil Johnson. 

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 40 years, David Shamblin; mother, Macie Johnson; three sons: David “Crockett” Shamblin, Heath Shamblin (Callie) of Spokane, Wash., and Josh Shamblin; brother, Steven Johnson (Sharon); grandchildren: Maddie Shamblin, Lake Shamblin, Colby Shamblin, Macy Shamblin, Brodie Shamblin, Landen Shamblin, and Graceon Knox Shamblin; niece, Amy Fontenot; and nephews: Scott Johnson, Chris Allen, and Kenneth Allen.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., at Candies Creek Baptist Church. 

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. in Candies Creek Cemetery following the visitation.  The Rev. Stan Gibson will officiate the committal service.
