Brenda Joyce Earwood, 76, passed away Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, at her home, surrounded by her family.

She enjoyed Bible study, sewing, cooking and spending time with her family. She was born on Sept. 20, 1942, to the late Virgil and Donnie Calhoun.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Floyd Earwood; brother, Billy Calhoun; and sister, Patsy Goins.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory three daughters, Angie Sims (Dennis), Gina Gilbert (Scott) and Jalayne Myers (Mike); five grandchildren, Mitchell Sims, Dustin Sims, Zachary Hicks, Creed Hicks, and Emma Grace Myers; seven great-grandchildren, Sydney, Kynslei, Kyra, Lance, Lyla and Dylauni Sims; two brothers, Jackie (Donna) Calhoun, Junior Calhoun; sister-in-law, Janice Calhoun; two sisters, Barbara Bishop and Jennie (Charles) Dixon; and many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

The family  say a special thank you to Hearth Hospice Care.

The family will receive friends at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, at Freedom Fellowship Church, with a Remembrance service at 6 p.m. The Rev. Frank Evans and the Rev. A.C. Cooper will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requestsdonations be made to Team Gleason or the ALS Foundation.
