Prosecutors in the Donnie Brantley case moved to drop the charges against him concerning the alleged murder of his wife, whose body has never been found.
The action took place Monday morning in Bradley County Criminal Court.
Criminal Court Judge Andrew Freiberg accepted the motion and jurors who were called for duty were dismissed.
Tenth District Attorney General Steve Crump said the case will be transferred to the Cold Case unit for more investigation.
