The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Tuesday morning the arrest of Donnie Brantley.
Brantley was arrested and charged with the 2009 murder of his wife, Marsha.
BCSO Public Information Director James Bradford confirmed the arrest to the Daily Banner.
The body of Marsha Brantley, who was reported missing in 2009, was never recovered and a cold case trial scheduled in 2014 was dropped so investigators could continue to collect evidence and information.
Then-Judge Amy Reedy granted the dismissal of the charge at the family’s request.
Brantley was originally arrested in August 2013, after a grand jury indictment.
He told investigators at the time that his wife had left him and she was planning a divorce.
Marsha Brantley was 52 when she disappeared.
A press conference by 10th District Attorney General Steve Crump, Sheriff Eric Watson and BCSO investigators has been scheduled for Tuesday at 4 p.m.
