SmartBank, E.L. Ross Elementary form new BEST partnership

CLEVELAND – The Chamber’s newest BEST partnership is a relationship between E.L. Ross Elementary School and SmartBank.

“The staff and students of E.L. Ross Elementary are excited to have the opportunity to work with SmartBank through the BEST partnership,” said Ross Principal Lisa Earby. “We’ve already begun brainstorming strategies for our partnership, and we’re looking forward to putting those strategies into action. E.L. Ross has benefitted from the support of our BEST partners for many years, and we feel honored to be supported by our community of businesses.”

BEST, the acronym for Business and Education Serving Together, is a program of the Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce that unites the efforts of a business and a selected school for the betterment of both.

“SmartBank and its employees are truly honored and excited about our new BEST Partnership,” shared Matt Jenne, SmartBank market leader. “My personal experience is that E.L. Ross Elementary is a special place and I am hopeful that our new partnership has a positive impact for all.”

“The Chamber’s BEST program unites the efforts of a business and a selected school, and involves a commitment of time, energy and expertise,” explained Sherry Crye, CBCC director of workforce development. “The ultimate goal is to help prepare students for the labor force. The intermediate goal is to forge affiliations between a business and a school for the benefit of both.”

“We are thankful that the Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce invests in this program as it has proven beneficial to both business and education,” states Jenne.  Each public school in the Bradley County and Cleveland City School Systems has one or more local business partners. For information about the BEST partnership program, call Sherry Crye, of the Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce, at 423-472-6587.
