Candy's Creek Cherokee Elementary School, Terra Running Company and Water & Waste Equipment, form new BEST partnerships

The Chamber’s newest BEST partnerships are a relationship between Candy's Creek Cherokee Elementary School and two local businesses, Water & Waste Equipment Company, Inc. and Terra Running Company.

“We are excited about the opportunity to partner with the school, as students and teachers alike kick off a new year in our city’s newest school,” expressed Cooper Hill, president of Water & Waste Equipment Company, Inc. “We look forward to partnerships to help the students flourish in their new school.”

BEST, the acronym for Business & Education Serving Together, is a program of the Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce that unites the efforts of a business and a selected school for the betterment of both.

“Terra Running Company is excited and honored to be BEST partners with the new Candy's Creek Cherokee Elementary School,” shared Brittany Durkin, owner of Terra Running Company. “We know how important education is, and this partnership is another way we can support the Cleveland community.”

“As a new community school, the staff of Candy's Creek Cherokee Elementary School is very excited to partner with these local friends to support the educational experience of our students. We are looking forward to creating strong partnerships that will create opportunities for our students to learn about being important, productive members of a community,” expressed Lisa Earby, principal for the Candy's Creek Cherokee Elementary School.

Sherry Crye, the Chamber’s Director of Workforce Development, added. “The ultimate goal is to help prepare students for the labor force. The intermediate goal is to forge affiliations between a business and a school for the benefit of both.”
