Bernice S. Peels, 83, of Coker Creek, passed away at 7:06 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017, at Sweetwater Hospital.
She was a member and treasurer of Coker Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and sewing.
Survivors, husband, Floyd Peels; daughters and son-in-law, Elaine Rice, of Cleveland, Linda and Wes Chrisman, of Coker Creek; sons and daughters-in-law, James Peels and Dee Miller, of Chattanooga, Donnie and Becky Peels, Roger and Teresa Peels, all of Coker Creek; grandchildren: Jason Peels, Holly Franklin, Kristen Calhoun, Codie Rice, Christopher Peels, Michael Peels, Morgan Peels, Brian Chrisman and Jacob Peels; great-grandchildren: Tanner Peels, Elizabeth Calhoun and Taylie Peels; sisters: Burmel Cathy, Shirley Stewart and Brenda Breedlove; brothers: Bill Shepherd and Elmo Shepherd; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by son, Billy Peels; and grandson, Joshua Chrisman.
The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Thursday, at Biereley-Hale Chapel, Tellico Plains. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, 2017, at Coker Creek Baptist Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
