Bayer U.S. to a be Cleveland Half Marathon title sponsor

Terra Running Company is excited to announce that Bayer U.S. will be the title sponsor of the 5-kilometer race at the Cleveland Half Marathon & 5K on May 12. “We are honored to partner with Bayer on this great local event,” said David Durkin, race director of the Cleveland Half Marathon & 5K, and owner of Terra Running Company. “Bayer is a great community partner here in Cleveland, and we are proud to help promote their quality brands made right here in town.”Coppertone and Claritin are brands supporting the sponsorship with samples for Cleveland Half Marathon & 5K participants and involvement on race day. Both Coppertone sunscreen and Claritin allergy medication are made in the Bayer Cleveland plant. The Cleveland Half Marathon and 5K Sponsored by Bayer will be held on May 12, in Cleveland. The race is in its second year and sold out days before race day in 2017. The 13.1 mile and 3.1 mile races start and finish at the Bradley County Courthouse, with routes that take participants on a scenic tour of all of the best parts of Cleveland, including through Lee University, the historic district, the Cleveland Greenway, and the downtown business district. In addition, it is vitally important for us to be involved in local events that promote wellness and a healthy lifestyle.” The Bayer Consumer Health manufacturing site located in Cleveland employs approximately 500 on the 60-plus acre campus on Michigan Avenue Road.  Originally founded in 1979 as a Dr. Scholl’s distribution center, the site now produces Bayer brands such as Coppertone, Claritin, Miralax, Afrin, Coricidin, Alka-Seltzer, A&D, Lotrimin, Tinactin and Dr. Scholl’s.
