Avery M. Longwith, 95, of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2020, in a local healthcare facility.
He was the son of the late John and Susie Pearce Longwith; and was also preceded in death by his wife, Aileen Longwith; his brothers: Forrest, Fred and Lester Longwith; and his sister, Esther Phillips.
Avery was a longtime member of the Mount Carmel Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was a widely-known house painter and cattle farmer, going often to the auction to buy and sell cattle.
He is survived by his nieces: Linda Longwith, Barbara Adkinson and her husband, Melvin, and Ramah Phillips; several great-nieces and nephews; and his brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Catherine Underwood.
The family will have a Remembrance of Life service at Mount Carmel Baptist Church at a later date.
