CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS

— The Sanctuary Choir and Drama Team at Shiloh Baptist Church in Ocoee will present “Shepherds and Kings” today at 10:45 a.m. and 7 p.m., and Monday at 7 p.m.

— A Christmas musical, “Christmas We Remember, Rejoice, Worship,” will be held today at 6 p.m. at Waterville Baptist Church, 4555 Dalton Pike S.E.

— A Christmas Musical “Almost There” will be presented at Kinser Church of God, today at 6 p.m.

— Mount Zion United Methodist Church, 7223 Georgetown Road N.W., will have “The Eve of the Eve” candlelighting service, Friday, Dec. 23, at 6 p.m. The Prelude begins at 5:50 p.m. Light refreshments will be served after the service.

The United Club will have its Christmas meeting on Tuesday at the Golden Corral at 11:30 a.m. Joyce Rayburn will be the guest speaker and Bertha McAllister will present holiday music. For more information, call Martha Bostic at 479-9207.

Christmas Underground returns this holiday season at Ruby Falls, running daily from Dec. 19 to Dec. 23, noon to 8 p.m. Combo tickets are available for the holiday event and the cave and waterfall tour. Go to www.rubyfalls.com/Christmas for information and tickets.

Join IN the activities at your Cleveland-Bradley County Public Library:

—The Christmas Book Nook sale still has some great books for gifts and stocking stuffers or for your own reading pleasure. Check the special table display next to the library’s amazing dollhouse. It’s decorated in detail for Christmas, so bring the kids to have a look. For last-minute cooking and decorating ideas for the holidays, the Book Nook still has a few cooking and craft books, along with Christmas magazines.

— Monday at 4:30 p.m., the teens gather for gaming in the Teen Zone. They have board and card games as well as Wii and Xbox gaming. Feel free to bring a multi-player E-Rated game to share. For more information email teenzone@clevelandlibrary.org.

— Tuesday night, the Library Book Club is meeting to discuss “The Japanese Lover” by Isabel Allende. Join them at 6:30 p.m. in the Carmichael Room for a lively book discussion. All are welcome.

— On Thursday at 4:30 p.m., the Tween and Teen Writing clubs will meet to write their own works of art. Scribblers for Tweens meets in the Children’s Room and is for ages 9-12 and the Teen Scribblers meets in the Teen Zone. Both of these groups work through creative writing prompts and participants are encouraged to share their writing projects.

— Don’t forget the library offers free Zumba classes each Tuesday, Thursday and Friday morning at 8 a.m.
