Looking for a fun way to get in shape? Join us for free classes offered at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.


Preschool Story Time
Lively story time for ages 3 to 5 years, with crafts, music and stories. Tuesdays and Fridays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Community Room.


Teen Film Society
A bi-weekly movie viewing at 4:30 p.m. for teens ages 13-17. This week we will be watching “Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure” (PG). Join us for a meme-movie on the first Tuesday, and an award winning movie on the third Tuesday — all shown in the Teen Zone. Recommendations for movies will be taken at each month's Teen Advisory Group. Email teenzone@clevelandlibrary.org for more information.

Baby Book Worms
A story time for ages birth to 3 years with stories, music and fun activities, Thursdays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and again from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Community Room.


Teen Anime Club
Join us for anime and Japanese snacks! This month, we're watching Magic Kaito 1412. This program meets in the Teen Zone from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Ages 13 to 17 only. Please email teenzone@clevelandlibrary.org with questions.

Monthly Craft: Leaf Wreaths

We've officially entered Fall, so it's time for Fall decorations! Join us in the Carmichael Room from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. to make a Fall Leaf Wreath to decorate your front door or a room in your home. Open to adults, teens, and children accompanied by adults.

FOLA General Membership Meeting and Rededication of the Brick Garden
The Friends of the Library Association (FOLA) will be hosting a General Membership Meeting and Rededication of the Brick Garden at the library. The rededication will begin at 10 a.m. at the front of the library and be followed by the General Membership Meeting in the Community Room. If you have donated a brick to the library or are interested in learning about FOLA, please come out to celebrate this rededication with us. The meeting and rededication are open to ALL members of the community, and there will be speakers with information about FOLA membership and FOLA’s mission for the continuation of their efforts to support the library. Refreshments will be provided after the meeting.


Family Story Time


Join us for fun stories for the whole family with craft activities at 2 p.m. in the Community Room.



OTHER RESOURCES, SERVICES & PROGRAMS



Library System Change to Atriuum | September 12 to 16

For these five days, the library will be CLOSED for computer updates and staff training on an entirely new system of cataloging and accessing library materials! The new system will be more user friendly for staff and patrons and will have numerous features that our patrons have requested over the past couple of years. If you have any questions about the new system or the days we will be closed, please contact the library at 423-472-2163.

Law Library
If you need to research a legal issue, our Law Library is located in the Reference Department on the second floor. We have a complete collection of Tennessee State Statutes available for use within the library building. Take a look on your next visit!


Collectible Books
Stop by the display of antique and collectible books on the main floor lobby the next time you visit the library. Books are provided for silent auction bids every month if you are interested in purchasing.


The Book Nook
Don’t forget to stop by the Book Nook the next time you visit the library! Friends of the Library (FOLA) operates and maintains the Nook, where you can find gently used fiction and non-fiction books at bargain prices. Science Fiction, Mystery and Fantasy sections have all been recently added to the FOLA collection. Each month, special sales are displayed on the table in the Book Nook area.


Friends of the Library Book & Coffee Series

Join your friends for coffee and a book review in the History Branch Parlor every third Friday of the month at 10 a.m. September’s review will be by Dr. Daniel L. Gilbert on the first volume of "Into the Mist: Tales of Death and Disaster, Mishaps and Misdeeds, Misfortune and Mayhem in Great Smoky Mountains National Park."

Volunteer Wanted
We are in need of a volunteer bilingual in Spanish and English for the Children’s Department. Must be dependable, love working with children, be computer literate, be able to climb, lift and carry, and be willing to assist at special events that may include weekends.
