Stella Buckner serves on 2018 Avanti welcoming team at UA

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — University of Alabama student Stella Buckner of Cleveland is serving as a student coordinator of Orientation & Recruitment Events for the Avanti team for the summer 2018 orientation session.
Nearly 60 students are serving on the UA Avanti team— a group that seeks to welcome new students during the Bama Bound orientation process.

By becoming well-acquainted with Capstone academic programs and co-curricular opportunities, the Avanti team provides essential support in preparing incoming students to meet the challenges of enrollment, and in welcoming high school groups to campus for large-scale recruitment events.

The Avanti team operates under the auspices of the Office of Orientation and Special Programs in the Division of Academic Affairs.

The University of Alabama, the state's oldest and largest public institution of higher education, is a student-centered research university that draws the best and brightest to an academic community committed to providing a premier undergraduate and graduate education. UA is dedicated to achieving excellence in scholarship, collaboration and intellectual engagement; providing public outreach and service to the state of Alabama and the nation; and nurturing a campus environment that fosters collegiality, respect and inclusivity.
