The 4-H Electric Camp was held June 27 through June 30 on the University of Tennessee, Knoxville campus. At this camp students explored the world of energy, electricity, energy conservation, electrical safety and other basic sciences in fun-filled, “hands-on” learning centers. Among other activities, students had the opportunity to explore electric vehicles and drive an electric golf cart through an obstacle course, build an electric motor and transform an electric meter into a lamp. Local sponsors for this event were Volunteer Electric Cooperative and Cleveland Utilities.
