The Cleveland Middle School Blue Raiders broke a 4-4 tie and held off the Lake Forest Bruins to earn an extra-innings victory last weekend at AT&T Field.
Lake Forest got its offense started in the first inning, when a Moreland lineout drove in the first run of the game. The Bruins scored three runs in the fourth with Beshears, Thomas, and Monroe, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs.
In the top of the fifth, CMS tied he game at 4-4.
The Raiders broke the game open with four in eighth. John Emendorfer and Cayden Williams each had RBIs in the frame.
Caden Cummings got the start on the hill for the Raiders, throwing four innings and allowing four runs on three hits while striking out two.
