BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Lee University Lady Flames Silvia Sartori and MaKayla Beebe headlined the All-GSC selections, garnering Player of the Year and Libero of the Year awards.

Sartori was honored as the league’s top player and for the third straight year was first team All-GSC. Sartori has one second-team All-GSC selection her freshman year. The Belgrade, Serbia, native is eighth in the nation in kills per set (4.46) while coming in sixth in total kills at 499. The senior outside hitter has also hit at an efficient .204 clip.

Beebe was named the Libero of the Year as well as first team All-GSC for the first time in her career. The senior has been voted second team All-GSC twice before. The Aurora, Illinois, native is 23rd in digs per set (5.81) and 27th in total digs (604). Beebe anchors the Lee defense that ranks fourth in the nation in total digs and ninth in digs per set (19.86).

Hanna Matthews was voted second team All-GSC as the setter. This is the first time she has been selected to the all-conference team. The Ooltewah native has recorded 1,124 assists on the year. Matthews has also recorded 63 kills hitting .265 on the year. The junior setter has also served 17 aces, recorded 280 digs, and 53 blocks to be credited with 109 points on the year.

“I could not be more proud of all three of them. They have each had an exceptional year,” said head coach Andrea Hudson.

“Silvia and Beebe have worked very hard for four years and to win these awards is the icing on the cake for great careers. Hanna has been at the helm running the offense, and we cannot wait to have another season with her,” Hudson added.
