BOAZ Ala. — Cleveland State Community College's men's and women's basketball teams traveled to Boaz, Ala., for a road matchup Tuesday against Snead State.
The Lady Cougars were defeated by the Lady Parsons, 82-47.
Head coach Evelyn Thompson said, "Tonight's effort showed that we're not ready to play together as a team. I have to get this team on the same page, or it will be a very long season. We had a good effort from freshman Za'kkria Robinson, sophomore Kaitlin Crump and sophomore Jordan Smith."
Robinson scored 14 points, Crump dropped in nine and Jordan Smith scored eight.
The Lady Cougars are now 0-1 on the season, and will look to even up their record against Dyersburg State at home Nov. 26.
The Cougars followed with a 74-49 loss to the Parsons.
At halftime the Cougars kept it close, at 29-22. From there, it was all Parsons.
Head coach Lee Cigliano said, "They played excellent defense but we struggled to execute, the entire game, with our offense."
The Cougars are now 1-2 on the season and will go after win No. 2 when they face Campbellsville-Somerset College Saturday inside L. Quentin Lane Gymnasium.
