A 2-year-old Cleveland boy died Thursday after he was run over by a vehicle while he was standing in the driveway of his parents' residence.
According to Evie West, public information officer for the Cleveland Police Department, the vehicle was driven by his father.
The incident took place at approximately 11:55 a.m. at 679 Highland Drive S.W.
CPD officers performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the victim until Emergency Medical Services arrived. The boy suffered head trauma, according to West.
The child was transported by EMS to Tennova-Cleveland, where he later passed away.
CPD investigators collected statements from the parents, who are cooperating with the investigation.
The incident appeared to be a tragic accident, according to the CPD.
The investigation is ongoing.
