CLARKSVILLE — Austin Peay State University has announced the names of students qualifying for its Presidential and Dean's  scholarships.

APSU congratulates Kali Gilbreath of Cleveland and Christina Cournoyer of Decatur on being awarded the Presidential Scholarship.

The Presidential Scholarship is for freshmen students who have at least a 3.0-plus GPA and 29-plus ACT score, or a score of at least 1,290 on the SAT.

APSU is also celebrating the high-achieving freshmen who have been offered the Dean's Scholarship for the fall 2019 semester.

Area students Jackson Moore of Cleveland; Virginia Willis of Cleveland; Julie Goonetilleke of Cleveland; and Christin Childree of Charleston have all been offered the APSU Dean's Scholarship for fall 2019.

The Dean's Scholarship is for freshmen students who have a 3.5-plus GPA and 26-plus ACT score, or have scored at least 1,170 on the SAT.

All of these area students have demonstrated hard work and a commitment to academic excellence, and APSU is excited they chose to "Be A Gov" for their higher education. The mascot of Austin Peay is the Governor, and intercollegiate teams at Austin Peay, both men's and women's, are known as the Governors.
