1-10 Sandhill cranes

The annual Tennessee Sandhill Crane Festival will be virtual this year because of the coronavirus pandemic. The virtual celebration is planned at https://www.tn.gov /twrawildlife/birds/sandhill-crane-festival.html.

The schedule of online events begins Jan. 11 and continues through Jan. 16.

Each year as many as 12000 cranes have overwintered at the confluence of the Tennessee and Hiwassee Rivers.
