In Luke 10, beginning at verse 30, Jesus told of a certain man who was robbed, stripped and wounded, as he was going to Jericho from Jerusalem. He told of two who saw the man, lying wounded, almost dead, and looked the other way – even passed by on the other side. But one, a Samaritan, had compassion on him. “ And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him” (Luke 10:34 KJV). And he didn’t stop there, but when he left the next day, he gave the host enough money to take care of the wounded man, and promised even more when he returned. more
