William Frank Thomas, 82, a lifelong resident of Birchwood, passed away Sunday morning, June 2, 2013, in a local hospital.

He was retired from Brown Stove Co. with more than 40 years of service.

He was the son of the late William and Willie Lee Thomas. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Alice Lee Pierce.

He was of the Church of God faith and loved to garden and farm.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley Thomas; daughters: Della Parks of Benton and Linda Lindsey of Birchwood; sons: John Thomas of Birchwood, Greg Thomas of Ohio and Anthony “Tony” Thomas of Cleveland, 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and two nieces.

A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at the North Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Bobby Gilley officiating.

Interment will follow in the McInturff Cemetery in Birchwood.

The family will receive friends this evening from 5 to 8 at the funeral home.
