William “Bill” Cronan Sr., 85, a resident of Benton, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012, at his home.

He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Lillie Mae Burns Cronan; wife, Annie Viola Cronan; daughter, Diane Cross; brothers: L.C. (Bud) Cronan and Franklin (Slick) Cronan; sister: Flossie Marie Wooten; and great-granddaughter; Oliva Grace Denney.

He was survived by daughters: Jaunita and husband, Jimmy Owens, of Benton, Alene Powers of Cleveland, and Daisy and husband Jr. Gatlin, of Benton; sons: William “Bill” Jr. and wife, Mary Cronan of Benton, Harvey and wife, Alene Cronan of Cleveland, and Joe Ben and wife, Carolyn Cronan, of Cleveland; sisters: Pearl Coleman and Ruth Seay; brothers: Bobby Gene and wife, Patsy Cronan, Burch Glen and wife, Lucille Cronan, and Virgil Jack and wife, Linda Cronan; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and special friends: Lorene Haulk and her daughter, Fay, and grandchildren: Keisha and Little Bit.

The funeral will be held Monday, June 18, 2012, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Chad Maxwell officiating.

Interment will be Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 11 a.m. in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
